Four steps

Four steps to claim settlement

Four steps lead to claim settlement (Regulierung). We handle three of them for you.

  1. 1 Make contactYou call us or write on WhatsApp. Often the appointment in Zirndorf is already set in the same conversation.
  2. 2 On-site appointmentThe inspection takes 30 to 45 minutes for a typical damage case. The location does not change this. It can be the city center, a company site or your home.
  3. 3 Preparation and deliveryThe report usually follows one day later. We send it directly to the recipients you name.
  4. 4 CompletionYou decide at the end. Either repair the car, or have the calculated amount paid out without a repair. This is called fictitious settlement (fiktive Abrechnung).
Accident that was not your fault: the other party's insurer pays directly You pay nothing in advance. We bill the other party's liability insurance directly, and you receive no invoice from us. Claims under your own vehicle insurance (Kaskoschaden) are claims under your own comprehensive coverage (Teilkasko) or collision and comprehensive coverage (Vollkasko). For these claims we bill you directly. The same applies to accidents you caused yourself and to valuation reports (Wertgutachten). We tell you the price beforehand.

Our inspection

We determine the damage. The repair stays with the repair shop.

We determine the damage. We do not do the repair. This keeps our damage assessment clearly separate from any interest in repair orders. Six steps set the depth of the inspection.

  • Cause and plausibilityWe compare impact height, contact marks and direction of deformation with how the accident happened. We note contradictions. We do not ignore them.
  • Prior damage versus old damagePrior damage (Vorschaden) is already repaired. Old damage (Altschaden) is not repaired yet. We keep the two apart and separate both from the current event. If prior damage, old damage and the current event are mixed up, this alone can be a reason for a later reduction (Kürzung). The information system of the insurers (Hinweis- und Informationssystem) stores such cases in a database. Read more under HIS entry (HIS-Eintrag).
  • Load-bearing structureA small dent in the body panel sometimes goes deeper. It can reach the longitudinal member, the supporting beam along the car floor, or the axle mount, which holds the wheel suspension. We already see signs of this during the inspection. A specialist repair shop does the exact measurement, and the result goes into the report.
  • Measure the paint layerWe measure the paint layer. Differences from the factory value show earlier work at that spot. This way we separate fresh damage from an old repair.
  • Sensors and calibrationRadar, camera and sensors sit right at the impact point. The actual effort to calibrate the driver assistance systems belongs in the repair cost calculation. This applies even without a photo of it.
  • Calculation according to manufacturer specificationsLabor time units (Arbeitswerte), paint levels and parts prices come from the manufacturer's system. Labor time units are the time set for each repair step. Nothing here is a guess. A clear calculation removes the basis for a general reduction without a reason.

In the Zirndorf commercial area there are often delivery vehicles and company cars, and the drivers change often. There, the history of a vehicle gets mixed up faster than with a privately owned car. A clean separation of prior damage is therefore especially important. If several people use the same vehicle, we also note the time of each case of contact damage. This keeps the link to the current event clear for the insurer too. Describe your case to us by phone and we tell you whether a report is necessary.

From daily practice

Low damage, high amount

Three more real cases show this. The report states the amount for each case and lists every damage item separately.

Loss-of-use compensation For the time without a car, loss-of-use compensation or a rental car may apply. The report states the downtime. In the cases shown, the amounts are between €602 and €1,106.

Zirndorf in numbers

County seat of the Fürth district

As of December 31, 2025, Zirndorf had about 26,200 residents. It is the county seat of the Fürth district (Landkreis Fürth). The district office (Landratsamt) has been in Zirndorf since 2003. The vehicle registration office (Zulassungsstelle) for the whole district is also there, at Im Pinderpark 2, 90513 Zirndorf. Anyone who registers or deregisters a vehicle in the Fürth district usually goes to Zirndorf for it. This is true whether you live in Zirndorf, Oberasbach or Stein.

  • County seat of the Fürth district26,200 residents. Zirndorf has about 26,200 residents and is the county seat of the Fürth district, with its own town hall and its own administration.

  • Business location, Playmobil locationThe best-known employer is geobra Brandstätter, the maker of Playmobil, based in Zirndorf-Dambach, with the Playmobil FunPark since 2000. Zirndorf was also traditionally the home of the Metz factories, which made television sets and camera flash units for decades.

Typical for Zirndorf

Three damage patterns that are typical for Zirndorf

Three patterns shape the damage we see in Zirndorf. This is our observation from practice, not an official statistic.

  • Commuter traffic on Bundesstraße 8On Bundesstraße 8 (a federal highway) in the northwest of the town, commuter traffic toward Fürth and Nuremberg comes together. Here we mostly see rear-end collisions and damage from lane changes in dense rush-hour traffic.
  • Parking damage around the Playmobil FunParkAround the factory grounds of geobra Brandstätter and the Playmobil FunPark in the south of the town, parking damage happens on the nearby parking areas on busy days, especially during school vacations. Small bumps when parking or leaving a space are common here.
  • Through traffic in the core townThe core town around the market square is compact. Its closeness to Fürth creates a mix of through traffic and residents' parking. Contact damage to parked vehicles happens here more often than classic rear-end collisions.

The direct way

A short assessment on WhatsApp

Contact damage in the city center or a bump at the FunPark often raises the same question: is a report worthwhile? Send us photos of the damaged area on WhatsApp. We review your case and name the next step. This creates no obligation.

This first assessment does not replace a report. It tells you beforehand whether a formal inspection is worth the effort.

Report and repair estimate compared

For small, clear damage, a repair estimate is usually enough. Courts see the exact limit differently. It is usually between €750 and €1,000. The exact amount matters less. What matters more is whether the damage is obviously simple.

Repair estimate

Suitable for small damage
  • Parts pricesList of the needed parts with prices
  • Labor time units and labor costsThe hourly rate of the repair shop
  • Repair costsEstimated total of the repair

Vehicle report

Useful for medium and larger damage
  • Photo documentation with photos, measured values and calculationMonths later, the condition can still be checked
  • Market-based Diminished valueThe loss in value that remains even after the repair
  • Replacement value and residual valueFor a Total loss , you need both values for a full basis
  • DowntimeBasis for loss-of-use compensation or a rental car
  • Separation of earlier damageClearly separates the current damage from earlier damage
Include the flat-rate expense allowance A flat-rate expense allowance (Unkostenpauschale) is added for phone calls, trips and waiting time. It is usually between €25 and €30. It is part of a complete vehicle report. A repair estimate does not include this item.

Questions and answers

What customers want to know beforehand

Costs

Who usually pays for a damage report in Zirndorf?

If the other party caused the accident, their liability insurance usually pays the costs in full. This applies to the Zirndorf core town as well as to a commercial area. With very small damage, a report is often not worth it. We clarify this beforehand by phone.

What does the initial assessment by phone cost me?

Nothing. The initial assessment by phone is a free initial assessment. It does not obligate you to anything. This applies to parking damage at the FunPark as well as to contact damage in the Zirndorf city center.

When does the money arrive from the insurer?

Review and payment usually take four to six weeks. If the settlement takes longer or the insurer reduces the payment a lot, this is a case for a lawyer.

Process

Do you also cover the Zirndorf city center and the Playmobil FunPark?

Yes. This applies to your vehicle anywhere in the town, to the core town at the market square as well as to the commercial areas in the south.

How quickly can an inspection appointment be arranged in Zirndorf?

An appointment is often free on the same day, otherwise on the next working day. This applies to the core town and the commercial area equally. A normal damage case needs 30 to 45 minutes for the on-site inspection. The finished report usually follows one day later.

Can I have the car repaired before the report?

Better not. Once the repair is done, the extent of the damage is hard to prove, for example after a bump in the FunPark parking lot or contact damage at the market square. Call us before the repair shop starts. An appointment in Zirndorf can usually be found at short notice.

What should I bring to the inspection?

Bring your vehicle registration certificate (Fahrzeugschein) and your contact details. If you already have a file number from the insurer or the police, bring it too. If the vehicle belongs to a business in Zirndorf, it is enough to also have a contact person on site. We clarify everything else there.

Your rights

What role does the vehicle registration office at Im Pinderpark play for my report?

None directly. The report goes only to the insurer and the repair shop. The registration office does not receive it. It becomes important only after a total loss, for example to deregister a vehicle or to register a replacement vehicle.

May I choose the expert myself?

In an accident that was not your fault, yes, no matter where the vehicle is, in the Zirndorf core town or in a commercial area. Suggestions from the repair shop and the other party's insurer are not binding. They are not a requirement. For a claim under your own vehicle insurance, however, your own insurer hires the expert.

Report

Is Zirndorf a district of Fürth?

No, Zirndorf is independent. The town is the county seat of the Fürth district and has its own town hall with its own administration.

Do you also inspect damage to vehicles of Zirndorf businesses?

Yes. This applies to company vehicles and commercially used vehicles as well as to private cars. We inspect them directly on the company site.

How far is it between Zirndorf and Fürth?

About five kilometers in a straight line, a little more by road. This has no effect on the inspection. We come to your vehicle.
